One Month!

Our little E turned one month on Friday, so exciting!  On the one hand, it seems like just yesterday that my water broke; but on the other hand (the one that hasn't slept through the night since she was born) it seems like one month is a lifetime.  We are definitely enjoying every minute of it.  My favorite part is when she is sleeping on her daddy's chest, it makes me tear up every time.

On Friday, we went to the children's hospital here for an ultrasound for her hip.  It turns out that she has something called hip displasia.  So, for the next six weeks, she is wearing a brace to keep her hip in place.  This is why her legs are splayed out in the photos below.  Luckily, she is so young that she will never remember this.  I am taking lots of pictures though so I can show her someday and embarrass her in front of future dates.

The Nursery

We moved into our new house December 1st.  For those of you doing the math, that means we moved in when I was approximately 5 months pregnant.  That meant no painting, no heavy lifting, etc.  Because of that, I haven't really decorated any of the rooms in the house...except the nursery.  I was so excited that we moved in time to have a nursery, and my family was so generous with gifts that I've decorated the nursery with.  Here are the pictures I've been promising.  It's still not completely done as I don't have any sort of permanent storage solution to all of her clothes, but for now they are all folded or hanging in her closet.
The quilt on the left was made by my great grandmother, the one on the right by my mother-in-law, I love them both!  E will only be using the one made by her grandma though as the older one is falling apart.  It was well loved for many years.

This Mobile was made by a friend of mine just for E.  There are also more things to put on it as she gets older, animals that my friends made for my baby shower.

The vinyl decal was an etsy find.  The only problem is the walls are textured, which I didn't realize when I asked for it for Christmas.  I had to use a little glue stick glue to get it to stick in the highly textured areas of the wall.

The paper lanterns and other decorations are from the baby shower my friends threw for me (3 days before I gave birth!)  I kept as many as possible as decorations for the nursery.

My grandma made this cross stitch and my Uncle gave it to me after the baby was born.

My favorite craft project in any room, the light switch cover.  I love the little details in a room!

I've had this desk since I moved into my first house.  I couldn't let it go, I love it so much so it is now a changing table!

This chair was a craigslist find, so comfortable!  It rocks and reclines, perfect for late night feedings.

It's been a while...

Well, I haven't posted anything in over a month.  the last post I made with the quilt I finished was a scheduled post, and I'm glad I did that because we have been very busy this past month.  Drum roll please......we had our baby!  She came three weeks early and was quite a surprise to both me and P.  I find that it is difficult to get anything done now, as I spend most of my time feeding, sleeping, and staring at our new little one, E.  I promise to eventually post pictures of the finished nursery, but it is currently a disaster and every surface is clothing storage.  In the meantime, here are some pictures of our lovely little E.
